Efterklang - Mirror Mirror

Very big fan of this band and am delighted to finally hear a new album from them in the form of Magic Chairs.  A wonderful new discovery from the very same chilled peninsula come in the form of Oh No Ono.  I’m loving the off-beat, kaleidoscopic tendencies reminiscent of the early days of Olivia Tremor Control on their new album Eggs

I’ve just finished reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer which turned out to be a thorough ‘preaching to the choir’ affair.  At the same time I was reading and continued on to complete Oblivion by the new literary love of my life, David Foster Wallace.  Of course, I’ve now settled into Infinite Jest and am just utterly enthralled.  It has the complexity of Pynchon without stomping my intellectual confidence and the fun of Irving without the insipid mawkishness.
